FAQ
What is your tutor rate?
Most of our tutors charge £30-£40 per hour, depending on their experience and the subject taught.
Can I teach online or in person?
Our families seek tutors both online and in person. Bristol-based tutors have the option to support families at home. Tutors working remotely teach sessions via Zoom.
How are tutors paid?
Tutors are paid directly into their bank accounts through Stripe.
What subjects are you looking for?
At present, Clifton Private Tutors offers support in all subjects for students in Year 1 through to A-Level. As demand grows, our services will expand.
Do I have to be a qualified teacher?
There are many tutoring agencies available for unqualified teachers. At Clifton Private Tutors, our teachers are qualified and hold at least two years of classroom experience.
Do I need a DBS check?
All tutors must hold an enhanced DBS certificate. We can guide you through this process if you do not hold one already.
How many hours a week can I sign up for?
We expect our tutors to do a minimum of two hours per week. We do not advise that tutors commit to more than twenty hours per week, in order to prepare and deliver high-quality sessions.
